Volunteer Job Descriptions

Volunteering at the Festival is a fun and easy way to get connected with your local Suzuki community. Before your volunteer shift begins, please take some time to learn where the Saint Botolph Building is, where all classrooms are located, and where the bathrooms are. Please also take time to examine the schedule.  These will be the most frequently asked questions throughout the day.

 

Pre-Festival Organization

Any time before March 11. We need volunteers to work with Bekka and Madalyne organizing t-shirt orders, making copies, packing mailings, delivering posters, and other random office tasks.

 

Festival Weekend Logistics

March 10-12, we need volunteers to deliver clinicians to and from the airport and lodgings, or arrange a cab or uber.

 

Saturday Information Desk

11:30-6:00 in the lobby of the Jordan Hall Building. We need one volunteer per hour. You will check students in as they arrive for master classes.  Give them a name badge and tell them where their class will be.

 

Sunday Greeter/Guide

8:30-9:30 or 9:30-10:30 in the Jordan Hall Building. We need three volunteers per hour. One person stands on the sidewalk to direct families to the correct building and answer questions.  A second person stands by the guard desk and directs families towards the registration area at Williams Hall.  A third person directs families to the correct line at the registration table.

 

Sunday Registration Table

8:30-9:30 or 9:30-10:30 in the Williams Hall foyer. We need four volunteers per hour. You will give families their registration packets. Packets contain schedules, nametags and surveys.

 

Sunday Information Desk

8:30-3:30 in the Lobby of the Saint Botolph Building. We need one volunteer per hour to answer questions about classrooms and the schedule. Volunteers also keep an eye on our staff room.

 

Sunday Faculty Assistant

Multiple times on Sunday between 9:00-4:30. Volunteers assist in each classroom, tuning students' instruments, checking room temperature, bringing water or coffee for clinicians, reminding audience about noisy siblings, keeping things running smoothly. Take the time to enjoy observing the class!

 

Sunday Set Up Faculty Lunch

12-12:30 in Williams Hall. We need a crew of six volunteers. As soon as the hall clears, volunteers will set up four tables with ten chairs each for lunch.  You will get drinks and fruit from the staff room and set them up on the rear table. You will also receive the faculty and teacher lunches and set them up on the rear table.

 

Sunday Reset Williams Hall after Faculty Lunch

1:30-1:45 in Williams Hall. We need a crew of four volunteers to put tables away and reset the hall with concert seating.
