What will my schedule be like?

Saturday - Master Class Day

On Saturday, March 11, students may register for a one-hour master class. Students may choose Suzuki masterclass, chamber music coaching, or jazz masterclass. During the hour, students take turns performing for a master teacher and receiving feedback in front of their peers.

Students in Book 1 - 3 are assigned to groups of four students, with each child receiving fifteen minutes of instruction.  Book 3 students may also request to join a longer class by selecting it on the registration form.

Students in Book 4 and up are in pairs, and each student receives thirty minutes of instruction.

Chamber music ensembles are scheduled one per hour, each ensemble receiving a full 60 minutes of instruction as a group, with a prepared duet, trio, or quartet. Observation is optional.

Jazz masterclass, for students book 2 and up, will be scheduled three students per hour.

Masterclasses take place between 12:00 and 6:00, with each student assigned to an hour long class.

Sunday (remember to set your clocks forward!)- Full Day of Group Activities

Sunday classes may begin at either 9:30 or 10:30, depending on individual schedules, and end at 3:30 or 4:30. Your schedule may include a break for snack, rest, or observing other classes.

On Sunday, March 12, students participate in three to six hours of activities ranging from group classes and a music-in-film presentation about Harry Potter and the Magic of German Opera, to a jazz improvisation workshop or Brazilian Drumming. Pre-Twinkle students will attend three hours, including one Pre-Twinkle class, one Eurhythmics class, and a concert by Tatu Mianzi. Early Childhood Education (ECE) students will attend two hours, including one ECE class and a concert by Tatu Mianzi.

The activities differ depending on the student's instrument and level. For this reason, it is very important for each child to be accompanied by an adult.

During the lunch break and free time, we recommend picnicking in the Lobbies, or visiting the nearby restaurants or cafes. (Food trucks became an impossibility this year.)

These schedules are only samples. Your actual schedule will differ.
